Welcome back Byron!

Welcome back Byron!

Byron Mobbs joined the inflammasome lab Summer Research Program in January 2021, extending Amy Chan’s work on caspase 4 activation mechanisms. This year, he returned to the Inflammasome Lab as an Undergraduate Student and worked on his research project investigating the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome during fungal infection (Candida albicans) under the supervision of Sabrina Sofia Burgener.

ABOUT Inflammasome Lab

Inflammasome Lab is a group of researchers led by Prof Kate Schroder at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland.
We seek to unravel the secrets of inflammasomes – protein complexes at the heart of inflammation and disease – to allow for new therapies to fight human diseases.
