Jared Coombs is joining us for his Honours!

The Inflammasome Lab is very happy to announce that Jared Coombs is joining the group this year as an honours student. Welcome Jared!

Jared's Bio: Jared graduated from a Bachelor of Science with an extended Biomedical Science major from the University of Queensland in 2020. During his undergraduate years, Jared completed two research projects, one in the Inflammasome lab and another in the Sweet lab (Institute for Molecular Bioscience, IMB), where his curiosity and intrigue for innate immunity grew. Jared began his Honours project in February 2021, where he plans to investigate the ability of the inflammasome to drive human diseases, and novel drug therapeutics to treat these pathologies.

ABOUT Inflammasome Lab

Inflammasome Lab is a group of researchers led by Prof Kate Schroder at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland.
We seek to unravel the secrets of inflammasomes – protein complexes at the heart of inflammation and disease – to allow for new therapies to fight human diseases.
